Overview
The Global Talent Visa is a flexible UK immigration route for exceptionally talented and promising individuals in specific sectors wishing to work in the UK. This route does not require a job offer or a minimum salary, and it allows for a faster path to settlement (ILR) in some cases.
Eligibility Criteria
- You must be a leader (exceptional talent) or a potential leader (exceptional promise) in your field.
- Your field must be within academia or research, arts and culture, or digital technology.
- You must be endorsed by an approved endorsing body (e.g. Arts Council England, Tech Nation, British Academy).
- Alternatively, you can apply without endorsement if you have won a prestigious award (e.g. Nobel Prize, Oscar).
Required Documents
- A valid passport.
- A letter of endorsement from an approved body (unless you have a qualifying award).
- Evidence of your achievements and contributions to your field.
- Letters of recommendation from established organisations or individuals in your sector.
- Your CV and portfolio of work.
Application Process
- Endorsement Application: Apply to the relevant endorsing body to be recognised as a talent or promise.
- Receive Endorsement: Once approved, you will receive an endorsement letter.
- Visa Application: Apply for the Global Talent Visa online within 3 months of receiving your endorsement.
- Pay Fees: Pay the endorsement fee and the visa application fee, plus the IHS.
- Biometrics: Attend an appointment at a visa application centre.
- Decision: Receive your visa decision (usually within 3-8 weeks).
Processing Time & Fees
Processing Time: Endorsement takes 4-8 weeks. Visa application takes 3 weeks (outside UK) or 8 weeks (inside UK).
Fees: Total fee is £716 (£524 for endorsement and £192 for the visa). IHS fees also apply.
