Service Overview
The Graduate Route, often referred to as Post-Study Work (PSW), allows international students who have completed a degree in the UK to stay and work, or look for work, for 2 years (3 years for PhD graduates). This visa is a fantastic opportunity to gain UK work experience without the need for employer sponsorship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be in the UK on a valid Student visa (or Tier 4).
- Must have successfully completed an undergraduate or higher degree.
- Your education provider must have notified the Home Office of your completion.
- Must not have previously been granted a Graduate or DES visa.
Required Documents
- Current valid passport and BRP.
- Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number used for your student visa.
- Proof of qualification (degree certificate or official transcript).
- Police registration certificate (if applicable).
Process Steps
- Completion Check: Verify your university has reported your degree completion to the Home Office.
- Application Timing: Ensure you apply before your current student visa expires.
- Online Submission: Complete the Graduate Route application via the UK Immigration: ID Check app.
- Fee Payment: Pay the application fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
- Visa Receipt: Receive your new BRP or digital status.
